Abstract

The life of Teodora Sarapura, Dorita, is a journey that invites us to understand and recognize ourselves in the colonial wounds that have marked the lives of so many men and women from indigenous communities, the ancestral inhabitants of the province of Salta. Recognizing the threads that weave the history of indigenous self-recognition in the mixture of identities that is Salta, and how from there, the defense of the territory emerges as the primary struggle, the cornerstone for being a community, to envision possible horizons in a complex present. The dream that begins the story is the guiding thread of what has been for her a mandate from the desire of her father, but also from the voice of her ancestors.
