The analysis in this article focuses on a territory located in the north of Entre Ríos, made up of scattered rural population centers in the Department of La Paz, founded as colonies, where the expansion of cotton was located. Although in Entre Ríos this crop has not been predominant in quantitative terms, we are interested in pointing out the way in which family cotton farming has been configured as a productive territoriality, whose development presents particularities with respect to the rest of the country. To this end, we will consider both the actions -and omissions- of the State that affected the construction of cotton as an element of identification in the area, as well as the particular dynamics of family producers and their modes of association.
