This article analyzes the presence of universities in young people’s “projects of future”, in the context of socio-productive structure´s transformations in Cañuelas (2008-2019). From an ethnographic investigation, the plot that configures the options and the way in which they are incorporated into their projects at two moments in their lives are addressed. We recreate the context that result from the practice of youth, companies and municipality in which productive and training processes are articulated. The research was carried out in two stages: during 2008-2010 while the young people were in their last year of high school and since 2018 interviewing some of these young people - after ten years of graduation - and also municipal officials. We conclude that higher education is differentially constructed as an option, without being linearly linked to the policies designed by the Municipality.Published
