CORPORACIONES RURALES EN LA PROVINCIA DE SALTA Y LA INTEGRACIÓN DE LA ELITE PROVINCIAL EN LA “REVOLUCIÓN

Abstract

The article deals with the reorganization of the rural corporations of the province of Salta within the framework of the new alliances established among the Argentine elites after the 1955 coup d'état. Within this realignment of political and economic forces, the fraction of the dominant provincial sectors that best achieved their integration in the new power structure was that of the tobacco producers. For this they created their own corporate entities representing their interests, which broke the hegemony that until the 1950s had the Sociedad Rural Salteña on the whole of the rural sector of the province.
