30 years of TRAMA: a tribute to the network of women and organizations working with peasant and indigenous women

Abstract

The TRAMA Network is a horizontal space that brings together professional women from diverse sectors (engineering, agronomy, biology, health sciences, education, sociology, psychology, law, social work, anthropology, etc.) and organizations working with Indigenous and rural women in Argentina. Its objective is to reverse the inequalities they face due to gender and class-based opportunities. The Network originated in 1996 with the Northwest Rural Women's Project of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries. From that moment, staff from state agencies working with other women in the region founded this space for dialogue and exchange with the aim of coordinating actions and strategies to address work with rural and Indigenous women within the framework of rural development processes. In 2026, TRAMA celebrates its thirtieth anniversary; we celebrate by listening to and learning from the experiences of its members. Playlist: 30 Years of TRAMA.
