“Desde el campo” presents the story of the most emblematic firm of the agribusiness model that has developed in the Pampas region since the last decade of the 20th century, narrated in the first person (in an interview format with journalist Luciana Vázquez) by its main manager. In addition to offering an autobiography of the latter, the text raises debates and controversies on a wide variety of topics related to agriculture (deforestation and environmentalism more generally, legislation on intellectual property of seeds, the diffusion of technological change), and presents assessments of the actions taken by successive governments and proposals on public policies that would favor agriculture, a sector which he presents as having few internal contradictions. This review critically analyzes the arguments, focusing on the perspectives and data that emerge from Grobocopatel's text to interpret the concentration process experienced by grain production in recent decades.
