This paper analyzes comparatively three cases of financial and foreign investments in Brazil that involve different forms of controlling production and land: investments in Harvard University endowment's investments; the business of Canadian fund Brookfield Brookfield fund business; and the company Ipanema Coffees, which brings together Brazilian, German and Japanese capital. The study corroborates the analyzes that associate land control, financialization and the internationalization of capital. Furthermore, it problematizes approaches that point to purely speculative movements regarding finance and land. The three cases analyzed show in whch ways the financial logic is present, connected and, to a large extent, dependent on agricultural productive results.
