Abstract

The aim of this article is to introduce a conceptual analysis of the most relevant actors within an ongoing research regarding the tensions surrounding tourist development in Tigre’s Delta, and island territory neighboring Buenos Aires, Argentina’s largest metropolitan area. The chosen empirical reference is an islander producers’ association, formed in 2019 in order to demand aids from the local City Hall for the improvement of their production and commercialization condition and also to recover the region’s productive profile. I intend to analyze the ways in which, the context of late capitalism global transformations, this association develops strategies to help its members in becoming beneficiaries of public policies of territorial development.
