Abstract

In recent years, Argentina has registered various forms of state intervention and reforms related to family farming. Particularly in the 2015-2019 period, a change in the assigned role and its definition in public policy is identified. In this article we propose to analyze the socio-spatial strategies of the Union of Earth Workers in the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires, in its relationship with institutional power structures. We focus on the analysis of the re-functionalization and resignification of spaces; the forms of protest; and the opening of alternative economic marketing circuits. We understand that these practices can be analyzed in their spatial dimension, while reflecting expressions of inequality in the sector.
